For the celebrations of «Día de Muertos», Jean Paul Gaultier Parfums imagines original creations, specially created for the occasion. Through his artistic involvement, Jean-Paul Gaultier wishes to honor this famous Mexican tradition, known throughout the world.
Jean Paul Gaultier has felt a deep connection to Mexico since 2019, and this evident in the vibrant celebration of the traditional holiday Día de Muertos or ‘Day of the Dead’. Every year, Día de Muertos sparks a blend of fragrance and tradition, resulting in an explosion of joy, color and symbolism. It's a fragrant ode to Mexico and its heritage.

For the past four years, Jean Paul Gaultier has paid homage to the traditional Day of the Dead celebration, a unique artistic and cultural fusion that comes to life in Mexico.
Gaultier playfully blends emblematic elements of the holiday with the brand's strong codes: - The calavera revisited in the colors of the iconic Breton shirt in 2019, clad in a wrestling mask inspired by the Lucha Libre look of the 2015 SS Miss collection in 2021 or decorated with a print inspired by the 1994 SS Tatouages collection in 2022. - Cempasuchil flowers inspired by the Tribute to Frida Kahlo collection (SS 1998) in 2020. - This year, Jean Paul Gaultier is honoring alebrijes or spirit animals. A new Day of the Dead code incorporating an iconic JGP print from the 1994 SS Tatouages collection. The fusion of these two worlds reveals a deep connection, marrying traditional fashion and heritage... simply magical. It demonstrates how traditions continue to inspire collections.
