The vernissage for the exhibition, "The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk" was held on Tuesday, June 14 at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. It was the perfect time to ask for first impressions from those who participated in the mad adventure, like Thierry Maxime Loriot, exhibition curator; Nathalie Bondil, museum director; Noémie Godin-Vigneau, an actress whose face animates one of the exhibit's mannequins and of course, the designer's muse, Tanel…

We know that if it were not for cinema, Jean Paul Gaultier would not be a designer. Therefore, it is only natural that he designs costumes for exceptionally memorable characters. A review of the designer's contribution to these cult movies from The Cook… by Greenaway in 1989 to The Skin I Live In by Almodovar in 2011.

After creating Victoria Abril's costumes for Kika (1994) or those for Gael Barcia Bernal in Bad Education (2004), Jean Paul Gaultier again signs to work with Pedro Almodovar! The Skin I Live In (http://www.sonyclassics.com/theskinilivein) will be released in September, but will be presented in May at the Cannes film festival. The croisette will be caliente!

Jean Paul Gaultier was asked to design the Evian water bottle at the end of 2008. The bottle can no longer be found (except on a few collector websites), but we can describe it in the designer's own words. He wanted it to be "minimalist, relaxed and crystal-clear, in short, as pure as the water it contained," without renouncing his couture signature of navy blue and white stripes.
