Two evenings are better than one!
Following its enormous success in Montreal and Dallas, The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier, from the Sidewalk to the Catwalk exhibition hits the American west coast at the deYoung museum in San Francisco. Living up to his extravagant reputation, Jean Paul Gaultier held not one but two launch parties!
The first was hosted by the talented designer Ken Fulk's studio, where he invited his close friends to dinner along with a few celebrities such as Dita Van Teese who put on a surprise cheeky burlesque show sprinkled with glitz and glamour. The second, entitled Le Grande Fête, took place on the following day within the museum itself.
Surrounded by barely-dressed models and performers, the guests enjoyed a parade of energetic cheerleaders, a splendid fanfare and a whole host of flamboyant creatures who added a theatrical touch to this star-studded event. Two evenings that perfectly reflect this lively exhibition that includes 134 outfits and an infinite number of items that have played a part in building the designer's legendary universe and style. This is Jean Paul Gaultier's way of showing that he never does anything by halves when it comes to entertaining his fans!
